more downsizing
In preparation for our RV living I've downsized from a huge house to a 2 bedroom apartment. I looked around yesterday and realized that I still have to much stuff. I've decided to go through my clothes and pick out 10 everyday casual outfits, 2 pajama sets, 2 special occasion outfits, 1 pair of tennis shoes, 1 pair of sandals, 1 pair of flats and 1 pair of rain boots. ALL other articles of clothing and shoes will be donated. I will keep 1 black purse and 1 brown purse as well. I would get rid of more if we had a washing machine but I need 2 weeks worth of clothing.

The plan
Ok so after much hemming and hawing I decided to put the plan in writing. I hesitated because I'm afraid that I'll write it all out and then the plan will change, THAT'S LIFE. I'm a great planner but a procrastinating executor. Maybe if I put it in writing I won't procrastinate as much. This is a 3 step plan. Most of the things that I do are in threes because 3 is my favorite number :-)
1. I'm starting school next fall to complete my prereq's
2. Once that's done we're getting rid of just about everything and moving to Illinois so I can get my Nurse Practitioners license. I have a scholarship but it's only good in Illinois. Then take a job wherever a new grad can make the most money for a year to get some experience.
3. Buy an RV and see the world as a travel nurse. Hubby will homeschool the kids and perfect his recipes for his food truck.
I'm not sure how long we'll live in the RV and we're not gonna put a timeframe on it. We're gonna let life tell us.

Simplify
Have you ever thought about downsizing and simplifying your life?
When I met my husband I lived in a huge custom built home in a lake front gated community on a acre of land. I worked in the ER and for a high tech infusion company. We decided to downsize and move into an apartment. I threw away about 12 garbage bags of stuff and donated another 12. I now work to come up with new recipes and live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I'm happier than I've EVER been. Mainstream media would have you to believe that more is the answer. It creates in you a desire for things that you don't need or even want for that matter. I've learned the hard way that things don’t create a good life, but the quality of relationships with those we share life with and a relationship with the creator of everything does.

FIRST POST
I'm going to start with a little intro. I'm a mother of 4, a Registered Nurse, a wife, a muslimah and whatever else I need to be at the moment. My children are 20 (Zainab), 11 (Mina), 9 (Niama) and 7 (Ibrahim) they live with their father part time in California and with me part time in Maryland. My hubby is an accountant and I'm a stay at home wife at the moment. Join us on our journey to simplify and live life rather than just existing paycheck to paycheck.
